Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Caberg Riviera V4 and the V4X?
Does the Riviera V4 have a sun visor?
Is the Caberg Riviera V4 road legal in the UK?
How does the pull-out visor work?
The Riviera has been one of Caberg's most enduring open face designs for a reason, it looks right, it fits well, and it does what an everyday helmet needs to do without fuss. The V4 in Matt Black is the stripped-back version of the range. No sun visor, no fancy mechanism, just a clean, practical open face helmet with a quality Italian build.
Caberg have been manufacturing helmets in Bergamo since 1974. The Riviera V4's tricomposite shell is a step above the standard ABS construction of many helmets at this price, using a combination of fibre layers that give improved strength-to-weight characteristics without a significant weight penalty. At 1,150g it's light for everyday urban and suburban use. Crucially, the V4 uses three shell sizes across the full range, XS/S/M, L, and XL/XXL, ensuring each size gets a properly proportioned shell rather than using excessive padding to fill the gap.
The face shield uses Caberg's pull-out system, easier to operate with gloves on than a conventional button-release mechanism. The visor seats cleanly against a lateral visor block to prevent unwanted opening at speed, and a simple lateral pull releases it. A clear anti-scratch visor is fitted as standard.
The lining is fully removable for washing, and the micrometric buckle fastening adjusts securely with winter gloves on. The chin strap includes a metal ring so you can lock the helmet to your bike when parked, a small detail that daily commuters appreciate.
The Riviera V4 is compatible with aftermarket Bluetooth communication systems including the Caberg Pro Speak Evo, which can be added to the helmet post-purchase without modification.
