Description

Where the Jarama shouts, the Horizon lets the quality speak for itself.

The Horizon colourway is matt grey, black and white, a measured, purposeful palette that suits the Drift Evo II's touring brief far better than a vivid graphic would. It's the kind of helmet that looks at home on any bike, in any company, on any road. BMW GS, Triumph Tiger, Honda Africa Twin, Kawasaki Versys, the Horizon sits right on all of them. If you ride for the journey rather than the image, this is the colourway for it.

Under the paint is Caberg's flagship full face touring helmet, built in Italy from a fiberglass shell produced in two sizes. Small shell covers XS to M at 1,450g. Large shell covers L to XXL at 1,500g. Two sizes means the shell is always proportionate to your head rather than padded out to fit, and the weight sits comfortably within touring helmet norms without creating fatigue on long days in the saddle.

Ventilation is built to work across a full day of riding in varied conditions. Two chin guard vents drive air onto the inner face of the visor to prevent misting from the moment you clip the chin strap. Two crown vents feed fresh air into the helmet body. Four rear extractors pull stale hot air out through the back, assisted by the integrated rear spoiler that creates extraction pressure at speed. A removable wind-stop at the chin reduces buffeting when riding in cold or exposed conditions. Every vent operates independently.

The visor system covers all bases. The outer clear anti-scratch visor tilts for micro-ventilation without full opening, and a quick-release mechanism changes it without tools. The Max Vision 70 Pinlock insert is in the box, not an extra. The integrated DVT sun visor drops on demand with a gloved thumb.

Two features that the Drift Evo II carries and most competitors at this price don't. The Emergency Quick Release cheek pad system uses red pull strips to allow a first responder to remove the cheek pads without moving your neck after an accident. The Caberg SOS Medical ID is a small NFC device built into the helmet that stores your personal data, medical records and emergency contacts so paramedics can access critical information immediately at a scene. These are not marketing features. They are thoughtfully engineered safety systems that matter precisely when you hope you'll never need them.

The interior uses hypoallergenic transpiring fabrics throughout, is fully removable and washable, and the cheek pads include grooves for spectacle arms. The aluminium double D-ring chin strap is the safest fastening system available and is the only type permitted in competitive motorsport. The helmet is factory-prepared and ECE 22.06 tested with Caberg Pro Speak Evo Bluetooth installed.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Caberg SOS Medical ID?

An NFC device built into the helmet that stores your personal data, medical records and emergency contacts. A first responder with any NFC-enabled device can read the information immediately at an accident scene, before you are able to communicate it yourself. It is a unique feature at this price bracket and one particularly relevant to solo touring riders.

What does the Emergency Quick Release cheek pad system do?

Red pull strips inside the cheek pads allow the pads to be removed by a first responder while the helmet remains on your head, reducing the risk of neck movement during post-accident helmet removal. The system is the same principle used in racing helmets.

What is the tilting visor?

The outer visor sits in a fixed tilted position between fully open and fully closed, allowing gentle airflow and preventing visor misting without requiring full open-face riding. It is particularly useful in cold or wet conditions.

Can I wear glasses in this helmet?

Yes. The cheek pads are ergonomically shaped with grooves for spectacle arms to prevent pressure on the temples during long rides.
