Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Drift Evo II Carbon and the fiberglass versions?
Why does the Nova Grey colourway use a matt finish?
What is the Caberg SOS Medical ID?
Can I wear glasses?
The fiberglass versions of the Drift Evo II are already a strong helmet. The Carbon Nova Grey is something else.
The full carbon fibre shell brings the weight down to approximately 1,350g on the small shell, 100g lighter than the fiberglass version and significantly lighter than most touring full face helmets at any price. That 100g is not a marketing number. Over a full day in the saddle, on long motorway miles or mountain passes, less weight on your neck translates directly into less fatigue and more focus. Carbon fibre also delivers superior strength-to-weight characteristics that no fiberglass shell can match at equivalent weight.
The Nova Grey graphic is a matt grey and black colourway that lets the carbon weave texture of the shell show through in a way a gloss finish never does. It is a deliberately understated, technical look, not the kind of graphic that shouts, but the kind that rewards a closer look. It suits riders who understand why carbon costs more and choose it for the right reasons rather than the appearance alone.
Everything else carries over from the fiberglass Drift Evo II and lands even more impressively in a lighter shell. Ventilation runs through two chin guard vents that drive air onto the inner visor face to prevent misting, two crown vents for fresh air supply, and four rear extractors pulling stale hot air out. The rear spoiler assists the extractors at speed. A removable wind-stop manages chin buffeting in exposed conditions.
The outer visor is clear and anti-scratch with a tilting position for micro-ventilation. The Max Vision 70 Pinlock insert is in the box. The integrated DVT sun visor drops with a gloved thumb. Quick-release changes the outer visor without tools.
The Caberg SOS Medical ID is an NFC device built into the helmet that stores your personal data, medical records and emergency contacts. First responders can access that information from any NFC-enabled device immediately at an accident scene, before you are able to communicate it yourself. Emergency contacts can also be notified of your location via SMS. It is a genuine safety system with no equivalent in this market at this price.
The Emergency Quick Release cheek pad system uses red pull strips to allow safe pad removal while the helmet remains on your head. The interior uses hypoallergenic transpiring fabrics, is fully removable and washable, and the cheek pads include grooves for spectacle arms. The double D-ring chin strap uses aluminium hardware. Factory-prepared and ECE 22.06 tested with the Caberg Pro Speak Evo Bluetooth unit installed.
